To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

With a maximum of four students to each of our instructors, you will gain confidence and experience unmatched by any other dive lessons. With this approach, your instructor can more easily target specific areas that you may need more help with. As a result, you will get more time having fun diving, finishing the course a much better diver.

(note: if you have a group of more than four you can still learn together, we will simply add another instructor to keep the student to instructor ratio at a maximum of 4 students for each instructor)

By the end of this experience, you will be a qualified PADI Advanced Openwater Diver.

To become a scuba diver, you need to be comfortable in the water and have basic swimming skills.

Your instructor will ask you to do a 200-metre swim or 300-metre mask, snorkel and fins swim and a ten-minute float to determine if you have basic swimming abilities. You should also be in good overall general health, particularly your respiratory and circulatory systems.

In addition to the online knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll need to complete water training.

  • Two or Four-day lessons (pool sessions & four ocean dives)

  • PADI Open Water manual for those doing the traditional course but for those doing learning you will receive 7 years access to the online eLearning as a reference material.
For safety, all students complete a brief scuba medical questionnaire which asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, you sign the form and you’re ready to start. If any of these apply to you we will ask you to see a physician to assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you’re fit to dive.
The minimum age to start this course is 10 yrs. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.

Please note Children between 10 – 14 years of age will qualify as Junior Openwater Divers & must dive with an adult certified diver Divers.

eLearning Option (At home in your own time) Discount: 70 us$
Learning to scuba dive has never been more convenient!
This is quick and easy with only small classes (4 students per instructor). You will maximise your learning while giving you great flexibility.
Designed with the busy diver in mind, eLearning option is all about convenience – the opportunity to begin and continue diver education beginning on the internet and continuing through PADI Dive Centers and Resorts. Through an interactive web-based program new students will read, hear and see the same material other student divers receive from interacting with the PADI Open Water Diver manual and Video or Multimedia Simply sign up online and begin your eLearning (it takes 8-10 hours to complete this program online). Book the days you would like to do your in-water sessions then complete your elearning theory online. Your in water training is reduced to 2 days because we have no more than 4 students for each of our instructors, eliminating waiting time like in standard groups of 8 or more! You will then be a diver, ready to enjoy this fantastic sport.

The option is available to receive the paper manual to us in conjunction with your eLearning for just an extra $50

Traditional Option (Class room) 
Sign up on line and come in or have us post out your theory work. You Read the manual in your own time. After that you need to come in and do a days theory.

Finally your in-water training is completed in just 2 or 3 more days (Depend if you choose Scuba Diver Or Open Water Diver Course). This is reduced to 2 days because we have no more than 4 students for each of our instructors, eliminating time waiting in groups of 8 or more. You will then be a diver, ready to enjoy this fantastic sport.
Please note: You must wait 18 hours after diving before flying so you cannot fly until 9 am the day after the course ends.

If you have done the first half of your PADI open water course (theory and pool work) then the Referral program is ideal for you.

Conducted in accordance with PADI standards, this referral program is designed for the student who has completed the open water theory and pool sessions in their hometown but elected to do their open water training in the wonderful waters around Las Terrenas & Samana. The referral program runs over two days with four Ocean dives.

To participate you require a completed Referral Form (dates within 12 months PADI or 6 months SSI Universal).
